The coating contains cement no. 861, which is mixed with refractories, resin binder, and water employed to make a very liq. mixt. The pref. coating material contains 20% cement 861, 60% sieved refractories, and 20% resin binders. A liq. may be added to the resin binders to ensure that the final mixt. is completely fluid. The fluidity of the mixt. is necessary so it can flow through a funnel with a bore of max. 2 cm dia. The coating is applied to the bores of pipes, ducts, chimneys etc. carrying smoke or used for ventilation, and is dried for 48 hours. The result is a perfectly smooth coating providing no obstacles to the travel of wire brushes employed to sweep chimneys etc.
