P Apparatus for determining rheological parameters of viscoelastic fluids. /P P The apparatus consists of two similar cylinder-piston assemblies 11, 13 and 12, 14 terminated by identical flow orifices 15a, 16a. The pistons are jointly pushed by the motor 5 at a set speed. A differential pressure gauge 8 is disposed between the cylinders immediately upstream of the orifices. One of the cylinders contains the fluid to be studied and the other a Newtonian fluid for comparison. The deformation rates are defined by the set flow rate, and the differential pressure accounts for the elongation stress specific to the viscoelastic fluid. /P P Application to the rheological study of dilute solutions of macromolecular compounds. /P
