The mounting plate is designed for use by the amateur handyman, fixing to a door post or similar, and providing support for a cantilevering tool table. In horizontal cross section the plate may have a 'U' shape of which the relatively short flanges return internally square. Two screws through web holes are provided for fixing, and a table mounting may be effected by sliding the leg of an inverted 'L' shaped bracket into the vertical slideway formed in the plate. The table may be fixed to the bar of the bracket and may accommodate a mini-vice, a table grinder or similar.
