Lysozyme phosphate, glycerophosphate, lactate gluconate and hexametaphosphate are new. They are prepd. by salifying lysozyme with an appropriate acid or a lysozyme salt with sodium salt of the appropriate acid. Prophylactic treatment of chickens involves admin. of lysozyme or its salts. Lysozyme combats vaccination stress in chickens so that the usual antibiotic dosage can be reduced or avoided. It is also useful in treating respiratory diseases. Lysozyme also acts as a growth factor.
