The parent patent FR2355451 claims a method and biocidal compositions for the protection of wood, in which at least three fungicides having an insect-repellant effect, or opt. with addition of a supplementary insecticide, and contg. a resin fixing agent are used for the external or internal treatment of wood. The present addition uses a solvent comprising or at least contg. water. The three fungicides are preferably sodium pentachlorophenate or pentachorophenol, (this latter usually dissolved in a non-water-miscible solvent and dispersed) a trialkyl tin deriv. and a thiazoline deriv. (or its quaternary ammonium deriv.). Other fungicides are metal salts e.g. copper, arsenic, mercury, lead and zinc salts. Wood protection composition which may be used preventatively or to treat effected wood. The use of water improves activity and reduces cost allowing wider usage of the product.
