The cutting head used for tools in suction or bucket dredgers has a fitting piece removably attached to the top of the front edge of the tool, a tooth likewise attached to the fitting piece, and fixtures for the attachment of the fitting piece and the tooth in their appropriate positions. The fitting piece (1) is formed as a claw (9) which grips the front edge of the tool. It is influenced in the counterposed direction by a tractive force exerted between it and the base (3) attached to the tool and aligned with it. The fitting piece and the base are connected by a bolt (4) acting as tractive rod extending through both components.
