An isolation appts. for experimentation in an abiotic atmos. comprises a set of rotating plates moved by an electrical control placed at the foot of the operator. The equipment and the access to the experiment are protected by two air-tight boxes. One is opaque and forms the foot and base of the appts. The other is realised from a transparent material in eight parts which can be taken to pieces and interchanged. Different devices suitable for the experimenter can be fitted to it. A complete mechanism at the base of the appts. allows filtered, controlled ventilation to be obtd., free from bacteria. The discharge of contaminated air takes place at the upper part of the appts. The regulation of the atmos. is obtd. by an electronic regulation device allowing adjustment of the atmospheric conditions in which the experiment is carried out, e.g. pressure, temp., humidity. Accessories complementary to the removable plates capable of circular movement can be added to them, facilitating the successive operations of the experiment, partic. when small animals e.g. laboratory mice and rats and chickens are concerned. The appts. allows the operator to have access continually to all stages of the experiment in progress.
