A discharge device facilitating the total discharge of the liq. contained in a filtration vessel and the recovery of the solid or pasty part retained by the filtering device consists of a simple slide valve on guides ensuring perfect fluid-tightness by a toric joint used in compression and by its bag or other receptacle. The conical base of the filtration vessel is terminated by an opening of large dia., between 50 and 250 mm. This opening is closed by a rectangular plate 10 - 20 mm thick mounted on slides. This slide valve is provided with a discharge valve and a hole of the same dia. as the discharge opening of the filtration vessel. A cylindrical collar 3 - 5 cm dia. is welded on the periphery of the hole to allow connection of a bag to receive the solids or pastes coming from the filter cake after discharge by the standard valve of the liq. part contd. in the filtration enclosure. A screw with a hand-wheel mounted on a mobile stirrup allows fluid-tight closure of the filtration vessel by a toric joint. The device gives total recovery of the drained liq. and rapid and easy recovery of the solid or pasty bodies with the avoidance of any odour when dangerous or odorous chemicals are concerned, and at low cost compared with existing closures.
