Earthing stake which is impossible to remove - has penetrating head and separate impact rod

The earthing or grounding stake ensures proper earthing of industrial equipment and lightning conductors . The stake is designed to prevent damage to the conducting element as it is driven into the ground by stones in the soil etc., utilises a minimum amount of conducting material, normally copper, appropriate to its use and cannot be removed from the ground once inserted. The stake consists of a solid 'arrowhead' (b) of steel or some other mechanically resistant material. This has a diameter slightly larger than that of the grounding proper (a), normally copper tube, to which it is fixed in some way e.g. bolted. The stake is driven into the ground by impacting or applying pressure to a rod (1) bearing on the arrowhead rear face, the rod being removed once the stake has been inserted.
