Determination of Phosphorus by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry with Electrothermal Atomisation

Determination of phosphorus is effected by atomic absorption spectrophotometry in which electrothermal atomisation is carried out in a carbon furnace; to achieve substantially 100% sensitivity with a newly treated furnace, the furnace is treated prior to carrying out the determination with a zirconium salt to form a surface coating of zirconium carbide.
