PURPOSE:To maintain the corrosion resistance of a builing for a long period of time in the tidal area of the sea water by a method in which an anticorrosive layer composed primarily of petrolatum on the surface of a building and then a protective layer composed primarily of an ultraviolet-ray setting type resin is formed completely on the surface of the anticorrosive layer and then hardened by irradiation of ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:An anticorrosive tape 2, made by impregnating petrolatum into a taped fiber cloth, is wound around the steel pipe pile 1 a building to form an anticorrosive coat layer 12 in an area from a place (e) a given length from the low- water level of the sea water to a place (f) a given length from the upper end S of a sea water-scattering area A. Then, an ultraviolet-ray setting type tape 6, made by impregnating an ultraviolet-ray setting type resin into a taped fiber cloth, is wound around an area from a place (m) several to tens cm from the lower end (e) of the anticorrosive coat layer 12 to a place (n) several to tens cm from the upper end (f) in order to form a protective layer 16. Then, the protective layer 16 is hardened by irradiation of ultraviolet rays or exposure to sunshine to form a coat of very high surface hardness.
