PURPOSE:To maintain the hot water temperature in a hot water storage tank constant at all times by a method wherein a temperature detector is installed at a heat collecting pipe on an inclined plane, and a flow of hot water is stopped when the temperature becomes to a set temperature or less. CONSTITUTION:A heat collecting pipe 1 is laid in a zigzag line on a slope 2 and one end of the heat collecting pipe 1 is connected with a water supplying pipe via an electromagnetic valve A. At the other end of the pipe 1, a detector 6 having a hot water reservoir is installed and a temperature measuring material 7 is inserted in the detector 6. The detector 6 is connected to a hot water storage tank 3 and a hot water supplying cock 20a via a branch cock 4. When the temperature detected by the temperature measuring material 7 reaches a set value or less, the electromagnetic valve A is closed by means of a thermostat B to stop the movement of hot water in the heat collecting pipe 1. In the meantime, when the temperature reaches a set value, the electromagnetic valve A is opened by means of the operation of the temperature measuring material 7. As a result, hot water is sequentially stored continuously or intermittently in the hot water storage tank 3 via the branch cock 4 and a branch cock 8. By repeating this operation, hot water of the set temperature is automatically maintained.
