METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DECOLORATION OF WASTE LIQUID

PURPOSE:To decolor the waste liquid from tea making factories and dyeing factories and lower its BOD and COD by filtering said waste liquid by means of mixed filter media of soil and peat. CONSTITUTION:Soil of high humus which is the eolian soil of volcanic ashes and peat which adsorbs and occludes live sludge germs in the inside of the calcium type coal are mixed and the mixture is used. Peat is used at about 3wt% of the soil. Raw waste liquid is passed through a screen tank 1, where it is removed of solid materials, thence the liquid is transferred into a pumping tank 5. Thence, it is supplied through a liquid transfer pipe 502 into a filter cylinder 2, where waster is sprayed to the filter layer by water spray pipes 201. The filter layer consists of the 1st filter layer 3 and the 2nd filter layer 4 consisting of mixed filter media of the soil and the peat, of which the layer thicknesses are set at about 25cm and about 15cm, respectively. Air is blown from a blower 6 into the filter cylinder 2 to uniformly pressurize the raw waste liquid sprayed with water from the water spray pipes 201. Thereby, the colorless transparent treated liquid is released from a release pipe 202.
