A high rigidity bearing which will support radial and axial forces as well as couples has a radial bearing (6) mounted between two thrust bearings (5, 7). Two of the bearings (6, 7) are mounted so that they share a common annular bearing ring (18) which has tracks (12, 13) cut at right angles to each other and is supported in the one piece outer bearing shell (21). Two other annular bearing rings (17, 19) have tracks (11, 14) at right a gles to each other and form the opposite bearing faces, these rings being mounted in one half of the split inner shell (32, 33) of the bearing. The remaining thrust bearing is between the outer bearing shell and the other half (31) of the split inner shell, with two rings (15, 16) having parallel bearing faces (9, 10), and rollers or balls (8). The split shell has conical locating faces (32c, 33c).
