PRODUCTION OF SHAPED FILM HAVING NATURAL WOOD GRAIN PATTERN AND PRODUCTION OF ORNAMENTAL PANEL BOARD UTILIZING SAID FILM

PURPOSE:To provide the wood grain pattern extremely similar to that of natural wood by a method wherein a thermoplastic synthetic resin film or the like having a large dielectric loss is formed by a high-frequency molding machine utilizing a mold member prepared by use of natural wood or the like as a master form. CONSTITUTION:By use of the natural wood or a natural veneer as a master form, a mold member reproducing the minute ruggedness and luster difference of the surface of the master form is made from a templating blank material which undergoes no or very little influence of the high-frequency induction heating. The templating blank material is again flowed onto a male mold to prepare a mold member (female mold) having the same shape as the surface of natural wood, and a synthetic resin sheet or film is formed by the high-frequency molding machine. As the material for the sheet or film, use is made of one which has a large dielectric loss, is transparent or translucent and allows easy observation of defoaming condition and defects. Accordingly, there is obtained a shaped film which is the negative mold relative to natural wood and has a surface grain extremely similar in minute ruggedness and luster to the natrual wood or natural veneer.
