GLUCOSE-ELECTROLYTE PREPARATION FOR HIGH-CALORIE TRANSFUSION

PURPOSE:The titled preparation used in completely intravenous supply of nutritions in which potassium citrate is used as a source of potassium and the pH is controlled in an appropriate range with an organic acid, thus showing high stability as a solution. CONSTITUTION:In the preparation of glucose-electrolyte for high-calorie transfusion, potassium citrate is used as a source of potassium and the pH of the preparation is controlled with an organic acid, preferably citric acid, in the range of from 5.0 to 5.5 so that no precipitation is formed even when heat sterilization is applied. This transfusion preparation is mixed with an amino acid preparation containing sodium chloride on use, therefore, it is preferably composed of glucose, potassium citrate, calcium gluconate, magnesium acetate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate and citric acid.
