The use of N,N'-disubstituted piperazines of the general formula IMAGE (I) in which R1 represents alkyl or halogen, R2 represents halogen and R3 represents phenyl (which optionally carries one or more substituents selected from alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, haloalkyl, nitro and alkanoyl), phenylalkyl which has 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl part (and which optionally carries one or more substituents on the phenyl part selected from alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, haloalkyl, nitro and alkanoyl), 3-phenyl-prop-2-enyl (which optionally carries one or more substituents on the phenyl part selected from alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, haloalkyl, nitro and alkanoyl), naphthyl (which optionally carries one or more substituents selected from alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, haloalkyl, nitro and alkanoyl), pyridyl (which optionally carries one or more substituents selected from alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, haloalkyl, nitro and alkanoyl), alkyl, formyl or alkoxycarbonyl, as antidotes for protecting crop plants from damage by herbicides.
