The inspection and maintenance equipment is for use under the casting track of a continuous casting machine producing blocks, the track having a curved and a flat horizontal portion. The curved portion is a double roller track with sprayers between the rollers and accommodated at least partly in a spray chamber, while a sintering trough runs below the track in the lengthwise direction. The equipment comprises a truck travelling on rails below the casting track (1) and above the trough, and with a working platform in two or more parts.
