The craft comprises a single ski-like structure (1) with motorised (12) propulsion and a separate position (4) above it for the operator or as passenger accommodation. This position can be raised above the water level whilst buoyancy tanks (2,14) provide balance. The tanks (2) may be arranged to either side of the structure (1) and may be liftable (as shown) above water level when moving above a given speed. The position (4) may be carried by a beam (6) pivoted (5) to the structure to permit vertical lift such as via a lever linkage (18).
