摘要
Conventional record plate pick-up arms have the disadvantage that the movement of the disc under the stylus imparts a lifting moment to the pick-up head, making it possible for the stylus to jump out of the groove, unless sufficient weight is added to the head by shortening the distance between the pivot (D2) of the arm (2) and the counterbalance weight (3). This effect is reduced by having the stylus (7) at the rear of the pick-up head on a longer carrier arm (6). The movement of the disc under the stylus then imparts a downwards turning moment (M1) on the stylus which partially counteracts the lifting moment (M2) on the head. This pick-up can thus be used with less head pressure, without the risk of jumping the groove.
