Apparatus for cleaning the sealing surfaces of the levelling doors (41) and the frames (40) of the levelling openings of horizontal coke ovens, this apparatus being provided with mechanically actuated cleaning tools (23, 28, 13), which can be advanced against the sealing surfaces of the opened levelling door (41) and the frame (40) of the levelling opening and are mounted with their drives (25, 33, 15) on a frame (4), characterised in that a centering device (9), moving into the levelling opening (44), is provided on the front side of the frame (4), said centering device cooperates with centering rollers (11, 12), which grip the outsides of the frame (40) of the levelling opening and fix the frame in its working position, and that a support element (20) which bears the cleaning tools (23, 28) for the sealing surfaces of the levelling door (41), is mounted on the frame (4).
