Fibre-laying device in connection with collection of oil pollution floating on the surface of the water

The invention relates to a device for laying fibres 3 in connection with the collection of oil pollution 10 floating on a water surface 11. By means of the invention a device is obtained which is easy to transport to a collecting region and by means of which the fibre 3 is laid simply and effectively in the water without the use of complicated apparatus, even in severe weather conditions. The device is constituted by an elongated container 1, having compressed fibre material 3 enclosed within it, and a fibre feed-out member 4 of variable length. This member 4 is in contact with the fibre material 3 and is connected by its one end to a braking device 8 supported by the container, which braking device, when the container 1 is lowered and propelled forward in the water, is braked and released from the container 1. Upon continued propulsion of the container 1, the said fibre feed-out member 4 is pulled successively out from the container 1 and feeds out fibre material 3 as the container 1 moves forwards. IMAGE
