A fork binder has two binder side portions and a back consisting of at least two back portions 22, 23 connected by means of hinges to each other and to the binder side portions 21, 24, the back portions each and any having two flanges, generally perpendicular to each other. The flange bordering the side portion carries forks 47 for interacting with holes in the documents stored in the binder, and the binder side portions have outer and inner coatings of textile or foil pieces. According to the invention, the binder side portions 21, 24 and the back portions 22, 23 have gaps 11, 12, 13 extending between them in the longitudinal direction of the binder back, the gaps being bridged by the textile or foil pieces for providing hinge joints, while the back portions 22, 23 are formed from a plastically deformable and/or weldable material, and are formed as angularly bent strips, one flange of which is arranged to fixedly carry forks 47.
