The invention relates to a new, general-purpose process for opening up ore deposits for prospecting purposes and subsequent mining, in which necessary ramp systems, drifts or tunnels (development works) which were previously placed in waste rock are now entirely or almost entirely placed in the ore. Since the deposit can be pre-developed, i.e. since within the deposit a variety of ore grades, such as ore types and/or contents, are exposed and made directly and continuously accessible in this way, the process further allows the subsequent mining in each given case to be adapted and steered in the desired direction, whereby the business cycle can be optimally matched to the presently prevailing economic situation. The process should therefore not only be regarded as a new process which, firstly, during the prospecting stage of a deposit, reduces the capital risk factor and, secondly, during the subsequent mining, maximizes the returns, but also as a totally new mining strategy, since the process creates ore, i.e. economically minable deposits of mineralizations which were not previously worth mining.
