Improvements in apparatus for training rowers

A seat on castors (104) is movable on rails (103) carried by a support (101) on which are fixed a foot support (111) and two beams. The two movable arms (107, 108) are mounted in rotation on the free ends of these beams so that the hands of the rower describe the same movement as on a boat. Each arm such as (107) is angularly integral with the movable part of a hydraulic brake (109, 110). Sensor means are provided on these brakes in order to detect the momentary hydraulic pressure and the momentary angular speed of the arms. Electronic means serve to calculate, display and record the peak output developed by the rower, the total energy expended by the latter on each rowing stroke and the effective component of this energy. These means also make it possible to calculate and display the momentary real and effective outputs and other useful information relating to the quantitative and qualitative work of the rower. IMAGE
