A method for inserting semi-rigid cables, tubes, hoses or the like, in form of substantially adjacent coils, into a bag (10) obtained by welding of one or two foils of flexible plastic material or other similar materials, the welds (12) being disposed along a regular polygonal contour, characterized in that it comprises the following steps : mounting of said bag in a holding device (22) mounted for free pivotal movement about an axis (XX), as known per se, such that said bag (10) extends in a plane perpendicular to said axis and that said polygonal contour is centered with respect to said axis, said bag and said holding device comprising, respectively, an orifice (18) and an opening (32) situated opposite one another and both being perpendicular to said axis (XX) and also centered with respect thereto, the diameters of said orifice and said opening being smaller than that of said coils to be formed, progressive introduction of said cable into said bag through said opening and said orifice, as known per se, by pushing (P) it in a direction substantially tangential to the contour of said orifice (18) in order to have said coils to be inscribed in the interior of said polygonal contour, and extraction of said bag from said holding device.
