S P E C I F I C A T I O NA TOOTHED PLATE FOR FACILITATINGDISINTEGRATION OF CROP MATERIAL CLUMPS BYTHE HAMMERMILL MECHANISM OF A TUB GRINDER MACHINEABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREfor facilitating the grinding of clumps of crop material by ahammermill mechanism mounted below an opening formed in a stationary bottomwall of a tub grinder machine, an elongated plate is mounted to the bottomwall along a crop material receiving edge of the opening therein. Alongitudinal marginal edge portion of the plate is bent downwardly at aslight acute angle relative to the plane of the mounting portion of the plateso as to extend into the opening generally toward the hammermill mechanism.The bent edge portion of the plate has a series of spaced apart notches orspaces formed therealong which gradually widen toward the edge of the plateso as to define a series of spaced apart, tapered and generally co-planarteeth which facilitate the ability of hammer elements of the hammermillmechanism to disintegrate crop material clumps passing through the openingover the teeth and strip disintegrated material residue from the teeth.
