ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA cooling chair comprising a seat rest having a firstchamber therein and a back rest having a second chamber thereincommunicating with the first chamber. The chambers each have aclosed end and a spaced apart porous end having a plurality ofvents and adapted to receive a coolant therein, such as dry iceor the like, for use in cooling the lounge chair. A door ismounted relative to one of the chambers to permit the insertionof the coolant therein. Front supporting legs are operativelyconnected to the seat rest, with rear supporting legs operativelyconnected to the back rest. A battery compartment in one of thechambers for storing a battery is provided with access means tothe battery compartment so as to permit replacement of thebattery from time to time. An electric fan is mounted in one ofthe chambers adjacent a closed end thereof for creating a flowof air through the chambers so as to provide a flow of air overthe coolant and exiting from the chamber through the vents, withguard means enclosing the electric fan, and a timer electricallycoupled to the electric fan and a battery in the battery compart-ment so as to obtain circulation of air in the chambers by theelectric fan for controlled periods of time. such that cool airis forced through the vents to cool a person on the chair.
