PURIFICATION OF WASTE WATER HIGH IN CARBOHYDRATES ANDSIMULTANEOUS PRODUCTION OF HIGH PROTEIN FEED PRODUCTAbstract of the DisclosureA method for purifying waste water high incarbohydrate while obtaining therefrom a high-protein feedproduct. The waste water is inoculated with yeast of thetype that converts starch and sugars into more yeast. ThepH is adjusted to desired levels, and then the inoculatedwaste is circulated and recirculated in conjunction withair in amounts that enhance the growth rate of the yeast.The purified liquid waste is then separated from moistsolids, and a large proportion of the moist solids is har-vested as feed material, while a smaller proportion istaken for use in recycle. The proportion to be recycledis sent to a treatment zone where the pH is lowered toapproximately 3.5 and where antibiotics are added, thelowering of the pH and the antibiotics both serving tosuppress a substantial portion of bacterial growth whileenabling the yeast to grow. After a suitable dwell time,the treated material is used in the inoculating step asthe inoculant.
