Abstract of the DisclosureA closed-loop emission control apparatus forinternal combustion engines includes an exhaust com-position sensor disposed at the upstream side of acatalytic converter which converts the noxious exhaustcomponents into harmless products at the highest ef-ficiency when the air-fuel ratio is controlled at avalue in the vicinity of stoichiometry in accordancewith a control signal derived from the sensed con-centration of the exhaust composition. The outputfrom the exhaust composition sensor is utilized togenerate an offset voltage by averaging the instantaneousvalues of the sensed concentration, the offset voltagebeing combined with the control signal to cancel anerror introduced thereinto during use of the apparatus.- 1 -
