[Isocamphyl- (5)] guajacyl ester of the formula IMAGE in which R for an isocamphyl (5) radical located in the 2- or 4-position to the OAc group and Ac for a C1-C4-alkylsulfonyl- or di- (C1-C4-alkyl) -phosphoryl radical, process for their preparation and their use for the preparation of 3- [isocamphyl- (5)] - cyclohexanol.
