Machine for cutting off a conveyor belt and for attaching a row of connecting clasps to the junction edge of such a conveyor belt

This machine comprises a working head (6) movable over its entire width, in order to ensure the pressing-in of the fixing spikes (14) of the clasps (11) by means of a pressing-in punch (12) and of an anvil (13), which are situated on either side of the location of the conveyor belt. However, a cutting blade (19) is fixed to the movable tool of this machine or to either of the movable tools of the latter, for example the support (21) of the anvil (13), when the latter is movable. A fixed counter-blade (26) is provided opposite, the arrangement being such that the working head (6) of this machine is thus capable of cutting off the conveyor belt (T) by a series of cutting operations carried out before attaching the clasps (11), this being obtained by using the same control mechanism as that ensuring subsequently this second operation. The present machine may be used for ensuring the two necessary operations after deterioration of one of the junctions of a conveyor belt (T), that is to say the cutting off of the corresponding extremity of the conveyor belt, then the attaching of a row of connecting clasps (11).
