This invention relates to coherent masses comprising an intimate blend of alloy powder and oxidant and to processes for forming pieces of dispersion strengthened metal from said masses by internal oxidation. Said coherent mass is easily formed because the alloy powder is not yet strengthened, and undergoes internal oxidation rapidly because of the intimate blend of alloy powder and oxidant.
