METHOD FOR PROLONGING LIFE OF REFRACTORY LINING OF TILTING BASIC STEEL MAKING FURNACE

The method to extend the life of refractory wall of the inclined type basic furnace is characterized by the following procedures; leaving a part of slag in the furnace after tapping molten steel and mixing it with dolomite of 45-135 kg (100 - 300 1b) per ton of slag, then shaking the furnace so that the composition of lime-slag produced from mixing of slag and dolomite could adhere and be coated to the refractory wall, or adding up the supplemental refractory material if needed.
