The synthetic resin composition has a volume resistance in the order of 10 ohm x cm. It contains a low-temperature-cooling synthetic resin and from 5 to 20% by weight of expanded graphite. For leak monitoring of the reservoirs (2), which contain corrosive media (3) of high electrolyte concentration, the following procedure is adopted: 1) A liquid-impermeable, non-electroconductive synthetic resin insulation (4) is applied to the cleaned concrete or brickwork surfaces (1) over an adhesive bridge. 2) The above synthetic resin composition (5) is applied to the insulation (4) and drawn over the reservoir edge (6), where the composition (5) is cemented to an electrode (7). 3) A liquid-impermeable, non-electroconductive synthetic resin coating or ceramic lining (8) is applied to the synthetic resin layer (5). 4) The electrode (7) is connected to the current circuit, which contains a) an ohmmeter (9) and b) an immersion electrode (10) immersed into the reservoir contents (3). As soon as the resistance drops below a certain value, an alarm unit coupled to the current circuit is activated. IMAGE
