摘要
In order to hand paint a glass, in particular a crystal glass, the latter has to be cleaned, i.e. washed, at the point where it is to be painted. Subsequently, the so-called decoration is primed in glass enamel and the glass with the glass enamel is then fired in a decorating lehr at a temperature of 520-590 DEG C, preferably between 540 and 570 DEG C for 2 to 20 minutes, preferably 5 to 15 minutes. Thereafter, the glass is left to cool inside the decorating lehr. After cooling, the decoration defined by the glass enamel is tinted, using a pen, with fine strokes of porcelain paint. The glass is then, once again, treated in the decorating lehr under the same conditions as the glass enamel and, thereafter, the glass is cooled therein. The glass is then finished and ready to sell. This process thus makes it possible to produce finer subjects with finer strokes, on glass as the substrate, than has been the case hitherto with glass enamels. The porcelain paint can only be fired onto the glass-enamel underlying surfaces.
