The adjustable amp is intended for loading a road vehicle. In its rest position it is let in flush with the surface of a loading platform. It has a lip plate pivoted to a main plate and provided with an extending arm which carries a pivoted locking lever. - The arm and lever form a knee joint with the retracted position on the plate to one side and the extended position to the other side of a neutral point. A spring between the main plate and the lever causes a locking element at the rear end of that lever to engage a locking member on the main plate when the plate is swivelled outwards.
