Mfr. of curved bearings e.g. a half shell plain bearing, having =1 lateral flange, by introducing a metal blank between two rolls with a contour corresp. to that of the required bearing. The drive speed of the rolls is selected such that the roll in contact with surfaces of the bearing of greater radius moves at a higher speed in the contact zones than the other roll while in contact with the surfaces of the bearing of lesser radius. Pref. the ratio of the peripheral speeds of the rolls is selected in accordance with the ratio of their radii.
