Cross colour eliminator for TV receiver - removes luminance interference component from colour difference signals via adder, delay line and cross-coupled dual changeover switch

The cross colour eliminator has the colour difference signals generated by the sync. demodulators (14, 15) added together geometrically in an adder (16) to produce composite signals at right angles to the interference component of the luminance signal. These composite signals are passed one way via a delay line (17) and the other way directly to cross-coupled dual change-over switch (18). This switch is controlled by a line-sequential switch (19) such that the original colour difference signals appear at the output of a dematrixing stage (20) free of the interference component as a result of geometric addition and subtraction.
