Fabric pattern dyeing - uses plunger pistons with cylinder apertures to control volume of dyestuff for application

In applying pattern dye to a fabric, as piece goods or fabric sections, the dyestuff is applied by pistons in a dyeing zone. Dye flow blocking sleeves are provided for the pistons in the dyeing zone. They have =1 aperture below the fluid level. This is connected through the lumen with the dyeing zone to allow the plunger to slide so that, in the upper position, the lower face is above the lower edge of the aperture of the guide sleeve and in the lower position the plunger provides a sealed closure for the opening. The design allows the vol. of dye to be controlled on entering the dyeing zone.
