The cage for a pig weaning bag has longitudinal side walls which can be arrested to cut off the sow in a region of the weaning bag. When necessary, they can be swivelled out at this region to create a large undivided space. The longitudinal side walls (1, 1') are pivot arranged on support posts (9, 9') so that they can pivot about a horizontal shaft (10). The longitudinal side walls can pivot laterally outwards on support posts about vertical shafts. The longitudinal side walls are pivot supported about a vertical shaft (32) at the top end of the front closing spar (7, 7').
