Training surface for ball or similar games has at least one rigid or flexible surface which can be folded, turned over, rolled or telescopically slide into each other, the playing surface of which includes surface sections placed next to each other in rows either along the length or transverse to the playing surface. The surface sections have at least two different degrees of hardness. This type of varying surface hardness allows for a more realistic degree of training in the case of tennis, squash or similar ball games. The surface sections of varying hardness my be positioned either by symmetrical or asymmetrical to each other and the whole surface is equipped with attached holders to facilitate its anchoring to any suitable support such as garage doors etc.
