The servo-raised platform for a low loader has a pair of crossed lifting lever arms (9, 14) on each side of the vehicle. Each pair is operated by a single extension arm (19). The bottom of each pair of crossed levers has one lever arm pivotted (11) on the chassis and one lever arm (16) with a sliding fit, similarly for the upper levers. The arms are arranged so that they straddle the load platform in the dropped position, and enable the load to be lifted from a low setting, eg on the road surface.
