The Ski front binding has a sole holder positioned on a support, where the support can be swivelled round a turning axis perpendicular to the upper surface of the ski against spring tension when a sufficiently large force directed sideways and outwards is applied. The support can be brought back to its normal position when the outward directed force is released. The sole holders are made to release the ski boot when a predetermined turning area of the support is exceeded. The release characteristics predetermined for the release of the ski boot are formed to vary as between the application of a force from the interior of the ski and the application of a similar force from the ski's outside.
