摘要
New method for cultivation and recultivation of dry, nutrient-poor soils (esp. karst soils or dessert soils) involves incorporation into the soil of burnt granulates, exhibiting a capillary structure, of an intimate mixt. of clay particles and fertilizers. The new soil improving agents pref. contain ca. 0.5-35 wt.% fertilizer. The granulate is pref. produced using finely ground clay in a pelleting drum or dish. Burning of the granulate is pref. carried out at 480-1260 degrees C; the burning process imparts a capillary structure to the granules. The agents are pref. incorporated into the soil at different depths to cater for plants having different root lengths. Since the plant roots tend to concentrate around the fertilizer-contg. granules and to penetrate into them, the granules act as an anchor for plants under adverse conditions.
