Separator of immiscible liquids dispersion - with baffle plates forming open angle facing flow

A mixt. of two immiscible liqs. is sepd. into a light phase and a heavy phase by passing it through a separator with baffles. Two inclined plates in the centre extend across the full width and form an open angle facing the flow. The edges of the plates at the downstream end contact each other and form a tight joint. This simple separator is easy to clean. It can deal with a higher unit loading per surface area and has an improved flow pattern.
