Coil springs (7), placed side by side, are attached to each other at their end turns by means of coiled wires. An assembly fixture which locates the two springs by means of radially acting jaws (3, 4) also includes a slider (6) with a hinged clamp plate (9-11). The end turns on the springs are provided with diametrically opposite radial deformations. They form straight sections (7a) which in assembly are parallel with neighbouring springs, for the location of the wire coil. The slider has a centering contour in its surface, cooperating with the respective end turns of the coiled spring.
