Automatic location of chaplets on cores for mfg. hollow castings - where template carries vertical magazines, each filled with stack of chaplets fed downwards onto cores

A template is provided with a pattern of holes so that all the holes can be aligned over specific zones of cores. Each hole contains a tubular magazine filled with a stack of cores; and the bottom end of each tube is fitted with fingers mounted on levers so the chaplets can be released one by one from the magazine. In the pref. chaplet delivery machine, the fingers are operated pneumatically or mechanically, and the chaplets are loaded into the magazine tubes directly after their mfr.; the delivery of the chaplets is fully automatic. With the continuing automation of foundries, the size of core boxes continues to increase, and the number of cores per core box is now very large. The invention eliminates manual labour and damage to the chaplets and the cores.
