The centrifugal pump comprises a pump housing and a bearing housing in which the drive shaft is carried in two bearings of which the outermost bearing absorbs axial forces. An inward shaft extension carries the impeller and is enclosed by a shaft protector bush between the impeller and the radial bearing. A labyrinth disc between bush and bearing has a hub portion and a disc portion extending radially to near the housing wall. On the side of the bearing, the disc has a cylindrical extension containing spring discs and a pressure plate.
