The system is for extracting coal in mines, esp. in the vicinity of drive units inside working gallery areas, with planing assemblies cutting the coal. Use is made of a cutting plane unit (3), armed only on one side and movable along the working direction. The unit serves as a loading ramp in the basic position, and bas movement provided by a hydraulic cylinder (2) hinged on the machine compartment (1). It is pref. arranged for guidance on the existing guideway (9), in connection with a sliding plane assembly, and can be part of a large working plane unit and/or comparable welded structure. This simplifies coal cutting in the area concerned, while checking coal from breaking into the gallery.
